The Instructional Infrastructure Committee advises the Faculty Senate on policies and issues related to teaching and learning on campus. The committee identifies faculty concerns regarding instructional practices and infrastructure, including the effective, ethical use of current and emerging instructional technologies. It makes recommendations on policies that support high-quality, equitable instruction; promotes responsible and innovative integration of emerging tools such as AI in teaching and learning; develops strategies to uphold academic integrity; and supports the adoption of nuanced methods for evaluating teaching effectiveness beyond student surveys. 

The committee engages with OIT to provide timely input on technology policies that impact faculty productivity, in collaboration with FS technology-related committees, such as the University Technology Committee, and the AI Shared Governance ad hoc committee. It also collaborates with UNLV units that support teaching and learning, such as the Teaching and Learning Commons, and office of Online Education.  

6.9 ...shall advise the Senate on matters of policy related to instruction on campus, act to inform itself of faculty concerns related to the instructional infrastructure on campus, and, where it deems necessary, make recommendations to the Senate through the Executive Committee.
