Each year, students and faculty of the School of Music present more than 150 concerts, recitals, and staged performances in Las Vegas. Our orchestras, bands, and choirs are augmented by numerous solo and small-ensemble performances. All UNLV ensembles are open to any UNLV student, and most require previous experience and an audition. Various ensembles specialize in early music, contemporary music, classical and contemporary music, jazz and improvisation, and many other eclectic styles of music.

The Division of Choral Studies at UNLV immerses students in ensemble music study in preparation for careers in performance and education. The five choral ensembles offer a range of experiences.
UNLV Opera's program provides training for both undergraduate and graduate students to become capable and versatile singing actors. In a variety of workshop, chamber opera, and main stage productions, students have the opportunity to perform in operas and operettas spanning a wide range of stylistic periods.
The school encourages students to participate in small ensembles in order to develop critical skills of ensemble playing. Repertoire ranging from the Baroque period through contemporary music may be studied in the various existing ensembles.
