Pre-Clinical Undergraduate Medical Education

We facilitate active, case-based clinical learning sessions for first- and second-year medical students. The curriculum integrates gross anatomy, microscopic anatomy, developmental anatomy, and radiology within a system-based design to enhance clinical relevance and application.

Clinical Undergraduate Medical Education

We offer advanced clinical anatomy electives tailored for fourth-year medical students, enhancing their anatomical knowledge and clinical application skills. Students participate in detailed dissections, cross-sectional studies, and radiological imaging analysis, while also engaging in clinical case presentations, creating prosection demonstration videos and annotated anatomical images, and leading educational sessions for junior medical students. This comprehensive approach prepares students for effective clinical practice and diagnostic reasoning.

Graduate Medical Education

We support residency training programs in orthopaedic, spinal, trauma, and various other specialties by providing practical opportunities to learn and refine surgical techniques. We also offer facilities and resources that support exploration and mastery of innovative surgical skills crucial for contemporary clinical practice. Our collaborative efforts with residency programs ensure alignment with clinical training objectives, enhancing surgical competency and patient care outcomes.

Summer Anatomy Seminar for Undergraduate Students

The immersive summer program offers undergraduate students a unique opportunity to engage in hands-on learning of human anatomy. Participants benefit from interactive lectures, prosection labs, and direct experiences with plastinated specimens, anatomical models, Sectra tables, and virtual reality headsets. Additionally, the program includes dynamic activities such as team-building scavenger hunts, career exploration workshops, problem-based learning exercises, and simulation lab experiences. Students also receive guidance on medical school applications from experienced medical professionals.

Community Outreach

We actively support high-school students interested in healthcare careers by providing exploratory experiences in medicine, fostering early career insights and motivation. Outreach efforts include hands-on activities, interactive sessions with medical professionals, and mentorship opportunities that encourage students to pursue careers in healthcare.

Service of Gratitude

Annually, students organize a Service of Gratitude to honor anatomical donors whose generosity significantly contributes to medical education. These donors profoundly impact student learning and patient care by teaching invaluable lessons in teamwork, respect, compassion, and professionalism. The event involves families of donors, faculty, and students, creating a meaningful tradition that emphasizes the dignity and lasting impact of anatomical donation.

Anatomical Gift Program

We are developing an Anatomical Gift Program, which will be the first in Southern Nevada. This program will ensure:

• A stable and ethical provision of anatomical donations for education and research.
• Transparent and respectful practices aligned with high ethical standards.
• Strategic planning and oversight to ensure sustainability and compliance.
