Rescheduling and No Shows
Attending both parts of orientation is required and crucial to your success in starting your journey at UNLV. Please do everything you can to attend your scheduled orientation and virtual advising session. Students can reschedule their own date up to five business days prior to your scheduled session by logging back into MyUNLV, clicking on the new student tile and choosing a new date. To reschedule within 5 days of your scheduled sessions, students can call the Office of Admissions at 702-774-8658 or email orientation@unlv.edu for assistance in rescheduling. Please include your full name, NSHE number, and original orientation/advising dates in the email.
If a student does not attend either part(s) of the required orientation, they will be considered a no show. Students have one week to reschedule the part(s) they missed or they will be dropped from their courses and will have to re-register for a future orientation date and be re-enrolled in courses. Students who no show to both or one part of orientation will be at the back of the line for course selection. This is why it is extremely important that you attend your scheduled sessions.

Enjoy Welcome Weeks and get the most out of your UNLV experience.
Academic Advising — Fall Semester
Establishing a relationship with an academic advisor ensures that you meet degree requirements and accomplish your personal and educational goals. First-year students will receive their class schedules during the virtual group advising session as part two of orientation and learn valuable information about degree requirements.
You will be enrolled in the appropriate courses based on your major and official placement, test score and transcript information submitted to the Office of Admissions. The more accurate and timely the information you provide, the more accurate your fall class schedule will be.
If you do not have official placement scores or wish to improve your placement, review the UNLV Placement Assessment options. Official placement information must be submitted to the Office of Admissions prior to your scheduled orientation by emailing ugdocuments@unlv.edu or contacting your Admissions Counselor.
