Transfer Students

Your UNLV experience starts here!

We're Excited You're Attending UNLV!

New Student Orientation will help you make a successful transition to UNLV. You'll connect with future classmates, learn about the services available to help you succeed, and explore opportunities to get involved.

We look forward to supporting you along the way to ensure you are ready for your first semester at UNLV!

New Student Orientation Overview

This program will help you make a successful transition to UNLV. Attending orientation is strongly encouraged for all transfer students. In-person and virtual sessions will be available. All transfer students must complete the Online Pre-Orientation course in WebCampus before attending their scheduled orientation.

Throughout the orientation programs, you'll learn about the services available to help you succeed, discover academic enrichment opportunities, and explore the ways to get involved on the UNLV campus. You'll also meet with academic advising for your major and learn how to be successful at UNLV.

New Student Orientation Handbook

Please read your New Student Orientation Handbook, which includes student support resources for future reference and details regarding important policies. You'll also receive a physical copy of the handbook at your orientation session.

Academic Advising

Establishing a relationship with an academic advisor ensures that you meet degree requirements and accomplish your personal and educational goals.

Transfer students are required to make an advising appointment and meet with an academic advisor in order to register for classes. Contact your Advising Center to schedule an appointment

Fall Semester

Academic advising and class registration will be offered during fall transfer orientation. We encourage you to contact your Advising Center to schedule an appointment before your orientation session.

Spring Semester

Academic advising is not provided during spring transfer orientation. You must contact your Advising Center as soon as possible to schedule an appointment.

Family and Guests

Family members and guests are invited to attend UNLV Family Orientation. This unique program will address the priorities and questions that family members typically have.
