A new study from the American Heart Association (AHA) warns the number of women living with cardiovascular disease could rise in the coming years.

The Las Vegas Valley is better prepared now for an economic downturn than it has been in the past but is still relatively exposed because of a lack of economic diversity, according to one of UNLV’s top economists.

In recent years, sea life along California’s southern coast has been in a state of crisis, with growing numbers of deceased or sick sea lions washing up on shore. The cause can be traced to toxic algal blooms and domoic acid in particular, which acts as a neurotoxin and can lead to seizures, brain damage, and death. In order to diagnose and treat sick sea lions that are beaching themselves, veterinary professionals are on site to collect blood from the animals. In an effort to improve this procedure and enable vets to work more efficiently, a team of researchers from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) as developed a synthetic sea lion pelvis using a combination of medical imaging and 3D printing technologies.

Instead of water, airplane toilets use a vacuum mechanism to suck waste into a holding tank and, despite rumors, it's safe to flush while seated on the toilet.

Snapchat had previously attempted to dismiss the case, but the Nevada Supreme Court ruled the lawsuit could continue. Across the country, Snapchat and other social media companies are in courts over similar issues of alleged harmful practice and its impacts on young people.

Last month, a U.S. Appeals Court in Boston provided relief to colleges and universities across the country that faced sudden grant funding cuts last year. Colleges like Northern Arizona University (NAU) and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) responded to the challenges differently, but the future of research remains uncertain for both institutions.

The real issue isn’t that younger adults don’t gamble. It’s that the decision model for how they choose entertainment has changed. Younger guests make choices differently, evaluate value differently and abandon experiences more quickly when something feels confusing, inconvenient or misaligned with how they spend their time.
