Ramesh Chand, a 42-year-old chartered accountant in Delhi, woke up in the morning at 4 am with severe pain in the jaw so hard that he thought it would explode. He woke his wife and before they could do anything about it, he became unconscious. His wife called the ambulance and upon arrival at the hospital, he was declared dead. Cause: coronary heart disease.

A paleontologist who excavated what he believes is a Washoe hunting camp in the flood plain of the Carson River is scheduled to speak 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center in Gardnerville. UNLV Professor Emeritus Steve Rowland will discuss the excavation of he believes is a 200-year-old butchering site.

Las Vegas is stepping into the spotlight in the film industry, with plans for two large studios coming to the valley and a proposed tax incentive and infrastructure bill to help with the transition. One studio - The Las Vegas Media Campus - would be built near the Durango Resort and Casino by California-based Birtcher Development in partnership with UNLV, and an even bigger Sony Pictures studio is planned for somewhere in Summerlin with the Howard Hughes Corporation.
