Luther Mack Jr., founder and president of Mack Associates, Inc., has lived in Nevada since he was six months old. The company has owned and operated McDonalds franchises in Nevada since 1975. Mack has held positions in several government agencies, including the Nevada Department of Employment Security, the Department of Highways, and the Small Business Administration. He was nominated by Senator Bill Raggio to serve on the governors task force on tax policy, which reviewed the states tax structure and made recommendations for tax policies. Mack sits on many community boards, committees and boards of directors. He served on the Nevada State Athletic Commission for 13 years and also served a term as chair of the University of Nevada, Reno Foundation. Mack was appointed to the Boyd Gaming Board in October of 2003.
