The Student Wellness Center (SWC) at UNLV continues to actively work with the Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD) to monitor and address the COVID-19 situation through guidance provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO). We are following all local, state and federal guidance. Please refer to the UNLV COVID-19 webpage for regular campus community updates and additional information and resources related to COVID-19.
The UNLV Support Team is available to assist students who are experiencing distressing circumstances related to the COVID-19 pandemic and other situations.
All members of the UNLV community, family, and friends can play an invaluable role in helping students who are in distress. Your expression of interest, concern, and compassion is an important factor toward a student seeking the assistance they need. The Office of Student Conduct (OSC), Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), Student Health Center (SHC), Disability Resource Center (DRC), University Police Services and administrators stand ready to assist you. We hope these services will help you to identify a potentially difficult situation and provide you with specific ideas and resources when you encounter a student in distress.
It is important to note that the university does not expect you to assume the role of counselor, therapist, or police officer. For those responsibilities, UNLV has trained professionals who are ready to assist you with students in distress.
Please visit UNLV Support Team to fill out a Student of Concern referral or to contact a member of the UNLV Support Team.
