CareSource, the nonprofit overseeing Nevada’s current Medicaid managed care contract, is donating $300,000 to improve health outcomes across the state. The funding will support efforts to improve maternal and child health, increase immunization awareness, and address social determinants of health — all priorities identified in last year’s Southern Nevada Health District Community Health Assessment. Half of the funding will go to UNLV’s School of Public Health and the Nevada Community Health Coalition for research.
