UNLV leaders, including Interim President Chris Heavey, talked about a planned healing garden near Beam Hall, where the shooting happened. The garden is expected to feature trees, flowers and benches that will feature the names of the victims. It was inspired by responses to a campus-wide survey asking for a memorial that looked natural and felt tranquil, school officials said.
The Nevada Board of Regents delayed consideration of a proposal that could raise tuition by as much as 12 percent and increase other fees that some officials said are needed to offset an expected $46.5 million budget shortfall.

The survey is intended to provide voters with information on the performance of judges, who are elected in Nevada. Most of the judges rated in this survey will be on the ballot in 2026.
