Manoj Sharma (Social & Behavioral Health; Internal Medicine) and Kavita Batra (Medicine) coauthored an article in association with the Global Burden of Cardiovascular Diseases and Risk 2023 Collaborators titled, “Global, Regional, and National Burden of Cardiovascular Diseases and Risk Factors in 204 Countries and Territories, 1990-2023” in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology (Impact factor 22.3). The burden of cardiovascular diseases is increasing in low- and middle-income countries. There is a need to strengthen public health efforts and develop effective and comprehensive healthcare systems that address all levels (primary, secondary, and tertiary) of preventing heart diseases.
