We offer multiple resources to help you navigate challenges, share concerns, and submit complaints or appeals.
As an undergraduate, graduate, or professional student, you have access to a wide array of support services and student-centered processes to help you succeed. Whether you seek guidance, need assistance navigating academic obstacles, or require other types of help with your academic journey, UNLV is here for you. We're committed to ensuring that you feel supported, heard, and equipped with the tools you need to thrive.
Where to Begin: Steps and Resources
Before submitting a formal complaint, we encourage students to explore the recommendations below and connect with the appropriate contacts and resources to resolve concerns quickly and effectively. If you still need additional assistance, please proceed with the appeal submission process.
Academic and Course Concerns
If your concern is a specific academic or course concern, please begin by reaching out to your professor or instructor. If the matter is not resolved, please contact the following campus leaders –one at a time– in this order:
- Department chair or director;
- then the Dean of the college or school;
- And, finally, Dr. Jake Thompson, Associate Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education and High Impact Practices, who can provide assistance from the Provost’s Office.

Campus Support for Student Concerns

Tuition, Financial Aid, and Admissions Support
- For concerns related to tuition and fees, contact the Cashiering & Student Accounts office.
- For questions about financial aid, scholarships, or other assistance, contact the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships.
- For guidance on the admissions process, contact the Office of Admissions.
Submit a Confidential or Anonymous EthicsPoint Report
Use UNLV's NAVEX EthicsPoint reporting system to confidentially or anonymously report concerns, ask questions, or file a complaint. You may also call the toll-free hotline at 1-844-665-2938.
Graduate students and Graduate Assistants (GAs) are encouraged to first seek guidance from their faculty advisor, graduate coordinator, department chair, or the dean of the college or school, as many issues can be resolved at these levels.
At any time, graduate and professional students who wish to submit a concern and seek guidance are encouraged to contact the Office of Graduate Student Services at the Graduate College. The office supports graduate and professional students navigating personal, academic, or financial challenges by offering student-centered guidance and informal issue-resolution services when traditional channels have not resolved their concerns. Students may submit the Graduate College Appeal Form in the Grad Rebel Gateway. Supporting documents can be uploaded with the submission.

Graduate Assistants
If further support is needed after contacting your faculty advisor, graduate coordinator, department chair, or the dean of the college or school, the Graduate College provides nonacademic advising and addresses GA-related concerns.
Grievances
GAs may submit grievances through the GA Grievance Form in the Grad Rebel Gateway. Supporting documents can be uploaded with the submission.
Termination Appeals
Students who are terminated from a GAship may appeal using the GA Termination Appeal form in the Grad Rebel Gateway.
Review Process
Submissions are reviewed by Graduate College staff and a committee chaired by the vice provost for graduate education and dean of the Graduate College. In complex cases, the dean may convene the Graduate Appeals and Legal Issues Committee (GALIC) for input before making the final university decision.

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) became law in 1990 and was later amended in 2008. The ADA is a civil rights law that prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities in all areas of public life, including jobs, schools, transportation, and all public and private places that are open to the general public. The ADA guarantees equal opportunity for individuals with disabilities in public accommodations, employment, transportation, state and local government services, and telecommunications.
UNLV is committed to creating an inclusive and accessible workplace for all students, as well as employees, including faculty, staff, and student workers.
