Congratulations to Carisa Shaffer for receiving the Administrative Faculty of the Month Award for April 2025. Carisa serves as the Director of Finance and Administration within the Division of Research at UNLV. Her nominators wrote: 

“Carisa goes above and beyond to help those in the division with human resources, pay/benefits, and budget-related questions (overseeing $21 million). She recently coordinated the UNLV Research Symposium with nearly 200 attendees on short notice, and it was a great success! She is very involved in the campus community and has contributed to the success of research, scholarship, professional, and creative activities with regard to the University's mission and achieving/maintaining R1 status. She inspires leadership by example! She is always respectful, listens to understand and provide assistance, and has great information literacy skills.“

The Administrative Faculty of the Month award recognizes outstanding colleagues who go above and beyond in their duties in advancing UNLV’s mission. The winning recipient receives a certificate and $150 in recognition of their contributions. Nominations for the May 2025 award are due by May 31, 2025.
