Nicole Hudson (Online Education) has been accepted to the Online Learning Consortium's Institute for Emerging Leaders in Online Learning (IELOL) 2020 cohort. The program is in its 12th year and this year is completely virtual, commencing in July and concluding in November.

Kristina Schmid and Eddie Gomez (both Online Education) and Peter McCandless (Math Learning Center) published "How to Create Engaging Educational Videos with a Lightboard" in The Teaching Professor.  The article provides an overview of the process the UNLV office of online education has developed for recording lightboard videos, as well as best practices for faculty.

Benjamin Root and Philip Voorhees (Online Education) and their efforts were highlighted in the September release notes of H5P, an open source HTML5 eLearning authoring tool. The duo worked closely with the international H5P software team to test and improve the accessibility of the tool. The office of online education will pilot the use of H5P in online courses at UNLV this spring.
