Friday marks one year since a gunman opened fire, killing three and injuring a fourth professor inside Frank and Estella Beam Hall at UNLV. Now, six murals dedicated to the victims of that tragedy have been raised at the university in their honor.

A University of Nevada at Las Vegas report focused on Black businesses in the Mountain West region of the country — including Salt Lake City, the Provo-Orem corridor and the Ogden-Clearfield region — reveals that Black-owned businesses account for 0.3% of all businesses in the area. In other words, a Black-owned business in Salt Lake City was not on the expected winner list.

Although Democrats failed to win a two-thirds supermajority in the Legislature, only one incumbent Democrat lost a legislative race, while the state’s Democratic congressional delegation swept their contests.

It's been almost a year since the tragic shooting at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. Three professors lost their lives as a result of the incident on Dec. 6, 2023. The murals honor the memory of those lost.

Hoarding Disorder is a condition marked by continuing difficulty in discarding possessions regardless of their monetary value due to a perceived need to save the objects. As a result, numerous items accumulate in the household leading to substantial distress and deleterious effects on health, safety, and social and occupational functioning. Since 2013, this disorder has been listed in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-V) as a stand-alone disorder while previously it was clubbed with obsessive-compulsive disorder.
