The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is investigating its 46th traffic-related death so far in 2024. During the first three months of 2023, 16 pedestrians lost their lives in Clark County streets. This year, the number of pedestrian fatalities has doubled to 32 during that same period.

The proposed Maryland Parkway rapid transit line is getting about $150 million in federal funding. The Federal Transit Administration and RTC of Southern Nevada said the $149.9 million award will help support the construction of the route that will connect downtown Las Vegas, UNLV and Harry Reid International Airport.
