The UNLV College of Liberal Arts (COLA) is offering enrichment programming and experiential learning opportunities through a full slate of summer camps, beginning June 1.
In their fourth year, the COLA camps are designed for Las Vegas high school students and recent high school graduates to learn about a variety of topics, including witnessing and interpreting history, justice and the law, financial literacy, and archaeology.
Camp programming is bolstered by expanded partnerships with nonprofits and community organizations such as The Mob Museum – the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement, the National Atomic Testing Museum, and The Just One Project. Faculty and staff from various campus units are sharing their expertise and leading sessions.
“We are so grateful to collaborate with community partners to strengthen our programming and offer students such fun learning opportunities both on campus and off campus through site visits,” said Mary Rose Stark, student recruitment specialist for the College of Liberal Arts and camp coordinator.
“The camps provide a wonderful way for students to expand their knowledge about topics of interest while being introduced to higher education and the dynamic learning experiences UNLV offers.”
Most programs run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Registration costs vary by camp. For more information, contact Stark at maryrose.stark@unlv.edu.
