At a time when enrollment is declining at universities across the United States, UNLV is marking its third year of consistent growth in its student population while continue to expand its support to students and their families.
One of the efforts to support this growth is the launch of UNLV’s Call Center and public chat with Viva, the university’s online digital assistant.
Call Center
The Call Center is a new one-stop shop for students and families, primarily assisting with questions related to Cashiering & Student Accounts and Financial Aid & Scholarships, and general inquiries. Previously outsourced, the center is now returning to campus, where UNLV employees will help serve students.
The Call Center is currently open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. PST at 702-774-VIVA (8482). Plans are underway for an expansion of available hours in the near future.
Viva Digital Assistant
To increase efficiency and timeliness, students can also chat online with Viva, which will find answers or connect them to support if more assistance is needed. Viva, now available to the public, can be accessed from the homepage of UNLV’s website.
Barb Roberts, associate vice president for enrollment management, noted that the expansion of UNLV’s customer service platforms will improve student experiences.
“More frequent interaction with UNLV staff is going to improve our campus relations team’s ability to provide more up-to-date and accurate responses to our students' questions," Roberts said. "We look forward to Rebels serving Rebels!”
The launch of these services will make it easier for Rebels to find the information and support they need and reflects UNLV’s commitment to providing clarity and accessibility to the campus and broader community, she said.
