Manoj Sharma (Social and Behavioral Health; Internal Medicine) coauthored an article titled, “TyG Index and Frailty as Composite Biomarkers of Cardiometabolic Risk and Mortality Across CKM Stages 0–3” in the journal Metabolites (Impact factor 4.5) in collaboration with coauthors from Chongqing Medical University and Qatar University. The study found that TyG-FI scores were independently associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease and mortality common outcomes of cardiovascular–kidney–metabolic (CKM) syndrome, Stages 0-3. The research has important implications for risk stratification in the early to mid-stages of CKM.
