Manoj Sharma (Social and Behavioral Health; Internal Medicine) coauthored an article with a doctoral scholar and faculty at Shahid Sadoughi University of Medical Sciences titled, “Determinants of childbearing: Behavioral change models and theories: A systematic review,” in the Iranian Journal of Public Health (Impact factor 1.6). In Iran, the total fertility rate is declining, making it a public health issue. The review examined existing evidence concerning the determinants of childbearing and advocated for adopting newer models in intervention planning, such as Sharma’s multi-theory model (MTM) of health behavior change.
