The paper, "Perceived Safety and Trust Shape Transgender and Gender Diverse Participation in Exercise Science: A Consensual Qualitative Research Study," was published in Frontiers in Sports and Active Living as part of the research topic, Navigating the Arena: Policy Development and Decision-Making for Transgender and Non-Binary Athletes in Sports – Local and Global Perspective.
The work highlights the importance of inclusivity in exercise science research design. Transparent communication, community-engaged recruitment, inclusive practices, and trauma-informed procedures may improve representation of transgender and gender diverse individuals, strengthening scientific validity and applicability of exercise science evidence.
