Elizabeth Lawrence (Sociology), Erika Marquez (Environmental and Global Health), Courtney Coughenour (Environmental and Global Health), Amanda Haboush-Deloye (Social and Behavioral Health & Nevada Institute for Children's Research and Policy), and Selam Ayele (Environmental and Global Health) published "Household insecticide use and pyrethroid levels in the United States" in Journal of Public Health Research. The article reports that U.S. adults and children reporting indoor insecticide use had higher levels of pyrethroids as measured through urinary concentrations of 3-phenoxybenzoic acid (3-PBA). The results suggest that direct exposures to household insecticides may be a meaningful and significant mechanism for pyrethroid levels among the U.S. population.
