Work Experience & Internships

Boost Your Practical Skills and Your Resume

Through the William F. Harrah College of Hospitality’s work and internship programs, students get the opportunity to take what they learn in the classroom and apply it to the real world. Hands-on training in the form of work and internship experience will help you explore your passion for the industry while giving you a major edge over the competition.

Work Experience

As part of the college’s commitment to integrating management theory and industry practice, our students are required to fulfill 1,000 hours of work experience at a verifiable hospitality-related job. Work can be completed at any point during the year—anywhere in the world—in an industry segment of the student’s choosing (e.g., hotels, restaurants, convention spaces, arenas, etc.).

Internships

Each year, an average of 600 Hospitality College students expand their professional development by participating in hospitality internships throughout the US or in their home country. Internship work experience is combined with a 3-credit online course, offered each fall, spring, and summer semester.
