The philosophy department also has an award through their William James Philosophical Essay Contest. The contest is open to all philosophy majors and minors.

Getting involved with student clubs and organizations is an excellent way to make new friends with similar interests and enhance your learning experience.

UNLV Ethics Bowl

The Ethics Bowl is a competition hosted by the Association for Practical and Professional Ethics, in which over 200 teams assess a set of contemporary moral dilemmas and argue for public policies to address those dilemmas. The competition takes the form of an oral discourse between two teams and a panel of esteemed judges. In 2016/2017 UNLV was one of roughly 25 teams that qualified for the Ethics Bowl National Championship.
