The UNLV Writing Center is pleased to announce that its 13 new consultants hired at the start of the 2025-26 academic year earned the Writing Consultant badge this January. The microcredential recognizes completion of the Writing Center's extensive training program in Fall 2025. The 70+ hour training program includes regular meetings, asynchronous Webcampus readings and reflections, observations, mock consultations, co-consultations, and evaluations. The badge, new this academic year, is a non-credit-bearing UNLV microcredential that offers consultants a way to highlight and market the many skills they develop during their time at the Writing Center.
