The panel series, "We Need to Talk: Conversations on Racism for a More Resilient Las Vegas,” will host an in-person and livestreamed discussion at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday., April 29. The series is sponsored by the UNLV Libraries and the Greenspun College of Urban Affairs. The next discussion is titled “We Need to Talk About Immigration: Fact Vs. Fear.”

“We Need to Talk” is an educational series which examines steps communities and individuals can take to affect positive change. The series features Southern Nevada community members, UNLV alumni, and researchers.

Immigration remains one of the most polarizing issues in the U.S., but how much of the debate is driven by facts—and how much by fear? In this “We Need To Talk” discussion, experts will break down the realities of immigration policy, debunk common myths, and explore how rhetoric shapes public perception and policy decisions.
