Congratulations to M. Amaris “Maria” Knight for receiving the Administrative Faculty of the Month Award for November 2025. Maria serves as a Research Associate within the Nevada Institute for Children’s Research and Policy at UNLV. Her nominators wrote:
“The nominee stepped in during the final phase of a large-scale community needs assessment and successfully synthesized information from more than 50 individual community interviews. This work produced clear, actionable insights that were highly valuable to both the community and the department. Additionally, provided expert, hands-on guidance to a staff member throughout the process—building their confidence, strengthening their skills, and increasing their ability to independently manage similar tasks in the future. The nominee consistently inspires leadership and fosters strong teamwork through their warm and welcoming demeanor. They actively look for positive ways to uplift others, helping colleagues feel motivated and supported as they strengthen their skills. Colleagues regularly seek them out because they are a dependable and trusted source of guidance, always offering thoughtful, patient, and practical support. The nominee is deeply committed to developing long-term skills in others, focusing not only on completing tasks but also on building lasting capacity within the team.”
The Administrative Faculty of the Month award recognizes outstanding colleagues who go above and beyond in their duties in advancing UNLV’s mission. The winning recipient receives a certificate and $150 in recognition of their contributions. Nominations for the December 2025 award are due by Dec. 30, 2025.
