Last month, second-year students at the UNLV School of Architecture gathered to present a beguiling exhibit of their work for the semester. Demonstrative Architecture: Apotheosis of the Unfamiliar is not an exhibit of buildings with a program, but something far more ethereal. Students explored a variety of forms and ideas in wood, cardboard, and glycerine. They then tried to translate these forms into structures that suggested not a building program but an emotional state.

The Nevada Arts Council is unveiling a new traveling photo exhibition – “Home Means Nevada” which will start its journey in the hallways of the Nevada Legislature during the 2019 session.

The work of Las Vegas artist Erik Beehn is on display at the Volunteer State Community College Art Gallery. The exhibit will be an installation, meaning that Beehn will build some of the art on location. The show is based on the novel “The Yellow Wallpaper” written by Charlotte Perkins Gilman.

Nevada Conservatory Theatre begins its season with Oscar Wilde’s classic comedy of manners and mischief. Performances are 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays through Oct. 7 in UNLV’s Judy Bayley Theatre, 4505 S. Maryland Parkway.
