There have many cases where people have been arrested and charged for not doing their part in curbing the spread of the COVID-19 virus - for offences ranging from operating businesses that were supposed to be closed to not wearing face masks in public. One international Crisis Communication specialist said these breaches may be because people do not feel respected when these messages are put out.
Politicians realize that many voters care about placing measures to slow climate change. A 2018 survey conducted by Yale and George Mason Universities categorizes 69% of Americans as at least “somewhat worried” about climate change, the highest level these programs had recorded since 2008.
