Ashley will discuss the university's challenges and goals in new academic year

WHAT: UNLV President David B. Ashley will outline his vision for the future of the university at Academic Convocation.

WHEN: Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2008, at 10 a.m.

WHERE: Student Union Ballroom at UNLV
Located off Maryland Parkway and Harmon Avenue

DETAILS: The academic convocation marks the start of the academic year, providing an opportunity to officially welcome students and faculty to the university.

In his "State of the University" address, President Ashley will discuss the challenges that lie ahead for the university and specific actions that will be taken in the coming year.
