No longer is this desert town geared merely for adults only, with an inspired, evolved-to-iconic status ad campaign, "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas," but home too, to one of the nation's most exclusive shopping centers, Fashion Show, as well as its discount sister-stop, the Las Vegas North Premium Outlets. There are lots of outdoorsy activities (for fall through early spring), and the opportunity to indulge in five-star hotels and restaurants. Vegas is also a world-class concert venue and convention destination.

The solution to homelessness in the Las Vegas valley continues to be heavily debated. Is the answer found in the need for more affordable housing? Or more mental health services?
