A number of Boulder Station employees say they’re fed up with the Culinary and Bartenders unions and have filed a petition to leave.

As a city full of bartenders, servers and dealers, Las Vegas takes tipping seriously. That’s why a proposed new federal rule that would allow more tip pooling has some in the hospitality industry on edge.

The Culinary Union this week will conduct its first citywide strike vote in more than 15 years, but a vote to strike by a majority of 50,000 hospitality workers doesn’t necessarily mean a crippling walkout is imminent at dozens of Las Vegas casinos and hotels.
