285 Las Vegas valley students struck by cars this school year

The data can be viewed on the Clark County School District Police website, which compiles data from all law enforcement agencies. The data tracks students going to or from school, Monday through Friday, during the hours of 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Out of 285 students struck by cars this year, 131 incidents involved students on e-devices. That’s compared to only 9 recorded incidents involving e-devices last year.
City of Las Vegas plans to launch AI crosswalk pilot program downtown

The City of Las Vegas plans on using advanced signal technology to transform 16 intersections in and around Fremont Street, including at Las Vegas Boulevard and Fremont Street, to potentially eliminate the traditional pedestrian push button. The city was granted $1.4 million from the Federal Highway Administration to implement the AI pedestrian safety technology later this year.
