Nevada surpassed 2,000 cumulative deaths from the coronavirus Saturday as the state reported 29 new deaths for the second consecutive day.

Nevada’s hitting a record number of coronavirus cases almost daily now. On Thursday, state health officials reported a record-high 2,416 new cases and six additional deaths.

The FDA has issued an emergency use authorization to a prescription-based at-home COVID-19 test that provides results in less than 30 minutes. It is the first test of this kind to become available for COVID-19. The only other infectious disease that has an FDA-approved at-home diagnostic test is HIV.

As COVID-19 cases climb in the community, the Southern Nevada Health District is recommending that Thanksgiving be celebrated only with people in your own household.

While COVID-19 cases keep rising and uncertainty abounds, many people are worried we could see another shutdown.

Nevada has hit its highest COVID-19 daily reported case. 2,269 to be exact.

W. West Allen, a partner in the Las Vegas office of Howard & Howard, was installed as the Federal Bar Association’s 93rd national president. Allen is an intellectual property litigator and counselor who represents a wide variety of international clients in federal courts. He previously served as chair of the FBA’s Government Relations Committee for seven years. In addition, Allen has been a member of the FBA board of directors for much of the past decade. He also received the FBA’s President’s Award for longstanding service to the association.
