The Presidential Debate offered a fantastic opportunity to put our campus experts in front of the camera. Here's who we captured doing interviews.

Representatives from the Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD) and UNLV gave media a "first look" at the debate venue and a chance to capture images, grab interviews with UNLV and CPD representatives, and capture the excitement building for the big day.

Jacob Thompson, director of UNLV's Sanford I. Berman debate team, summed up his experience in a Facebook post: "The final presidential debate of 2016 was held at UNLV, and I was lucky enough to be right in the middle of it all. October 19, 2016 will always live in my memory as the BEST DAY EVER! So many committed people worked so hard for over a year to pull this debate together, and I had an amazing experience getting to know and working with all of them."

Criminal Justice professor William Sousa participates in an interview with Al Jazeera News during one of five media "pop-up" events held inside the Rogers Literature and Law Building. In addition to thousands of national media, UNLV was privileged to welcome hundreds of foreign journalists from top media organizations throughout the world - many of whom walked our campus and spoke with our students and faculty during the pop-ups or within the media center.

Political Science professor Dan Lee was a fixture in the media center and at the on-campus pop-up events during debate week. Lee was interviewed by CNN from the network's on-campus set and by dozens of local, national and international journalists.

After the debate, history professor Michael Green described this key personal moment from Spin Alley: "I had looked earlier at Charlie Pierce’s blog and saw he was in Las Vegas. Turns out he was in the first row, so I went over and introduced myself. He gave me a big greeting — he reads the comments — and we talked a bit. Then I took my first selfie ever, though he had to show me how to do it. Now that I know how, I’ll never do it again."
