Manoj Sharma, Sharmistha Roy, Mahsa PasheiMeykola, Rupam Mitra & Asma Awan (all Social & Behavioral Health) published an article titled “Evaluation of the Effectiveness of Psychosocial, Behavioral, and Educational Interventions for Youth Cannabis Use: A Systematic Review of Randomized Controlled Trials” in the journal Psychoactives. The study found that behavioral interventions, especially school-based cognitive-behavioral approaches, provided robust and consistent evidence for reducing cannabis use in the target population. Future research should focus on statistically well-powered RCTs with standardized outcome measures, longer follow-ups, and process evaluations to strengthen evidence-based prevention strategies. Roy, PasheiMeykola, Mitra, and Awan are doctoral scholars.
