Manoj Sharma (Social & Behavioral Health; Internal Medicine) coauthored an article titled “Caregiver concerns about preschoolers’ overweight/obesity and undereating and their associations with feeding practices in China” in the journal Archives of Public Health (Impact factor 3.4) in association with coauthors from Chongqing Medical University, Sichuan University, Qatar University, and Chengdu Medical College. The study found that caregiver concerns in China about undereating were positively associated with coercive control practices, including restrictive feeding, pressure to eat, and instrumental feeding. It was concluded that family-based early childhood feeding practices programs need to be developed in China.
