Keith Shulman, Sharmistha Roy, and Manoj Sharma (all Social and Behavioral Health) presented three papers at the II. Çukurova International Congress on Social and Human Sciences held in Adana, Türkiye, between July 3-5, 2026, in co-authorship with Zain Akbar of Roseman University of Health Sciences and one in co-authorship with Daryl Traylor of Oceania School of Medicine. The conference was well attended with participants from 16 countries, and the abstracts will be published in the Proceedings. The papers were: (1) Physician Attitudes to Prescribe Opioids in the U.S., An Exploratory Qualitative Research Study Designed to Elucidate Barriers or Facilitators According to the Theory of Planned Behavior; (2) Interventions for Altering Physician Behavior Regarding Opioid Prescriptions Among Physicians: A Systematic Review; and (3) Determinants of Prescription Opioid Behavior for Chronic Non-Cancer Pain Among Physicians: A Systematic Review. Shulman and Roy are doctoral scholars.
