Jarod Giger (Social Work) recently published a book chapter titled, "It Took My Village: How the Pandemic Worsened Decades of Social Isolation and Increased Loneliness" in the volume Academic Chutes & Ladders: The Hidden Curriculum That Makes or Breaks Academic Careers (Bloomsbury Academic, 2026). The chapter addresses campus isolation, faculty burnout, student mental health, and institutional strategies for fostering social resilience and clear professorial boundaries. In conjunction with the release, Giger served as a keynote speaker for the International Studies Association (ISA) virtual book roundtable.
