Jarod T. Giger
Biography
Jarod T. Giger is an associate professor of social work at UNLV whose career combines more than a decade of front-line social work with research on health disparities, telehealth policy, and the use of technology to improve community well-being.
A fifth-generation farmer and first-generation college graduate, Giger brings a deep commitment to working with underserved and rural communities. His national policy work includes a fellowship with the National Rural Health Association, where he focused on telehealth and cross-state licensure. He also served six years on the editorial board of The Journal of Rural Health, contributing to research and policy efforts aimed at reducing health disparities in rural communities.
At UNLV, Giger's current projects focus on active duty soldier well-being and artificial intelligence in education, alongside data-driven approaches to student well-being. He is credentialed in Teaching with AI in Higher Education and certified in Business Analytics Science.
