J. Abigail Saavedra (Psychology) and colleagues published their article, "Radical Accountability: A Strategy for Addressing Challenges and Inequities in Research Mentoring Relationships" in Feminisim and Psychology. Their paper paper argues that while research mentoring in psychology can either reduce or reinforce systemic inequities, many harmful dynamics stem from a lack of “radical accountability,” which it defines as mentors’ critical reflection on power and privilege and their intentional action to redress inequity, illustrated through reflexive practice and practical recommendations.
