Dustin Davis and Arpita Basu (both Kinesiology and Nutrition Sciences) recently collaborated with Jeannette Crew, Dr. Petar Planinic, and Dr. James Alexander (all Medicine) to publish a comprehensive review in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health. Their review examined the last 20 years of observational and clinical studies on the effects of dietary bioactive compounds on maternal adiposity and inflammation in gestational diabetes mellitus. This project is part of Davis' broader doctoral research on how physical activity and dietary bioactive compounds affect cardiometabolic risk factors in people with metabolic syndrome, Type 2 diabetes, and gestational diabetes. Davis is a doctoral student. Crew is a medical student.
