Ph.D. student Debika Jana and associate professor Merryn Cole (Teaching and Learning) presented their research on “Teachers’ conceptual knowledge of Wildfire and Human interaction” on National Association for Research in Science Teaching (NARST) Annual Conference, 2026, in Seattle.
This study aims to identify the teachers’ understanding about wildfire and its relationship with humans because a well-informed teacher can create a learning environment that encourages students to explore mitigation strategies, sustainable land management practices and adaptive behavior to live in fire prone areas.
