Craig Hennigan and Dillon Brouwer (both Communication Studies) published "Creating an open-source novel dataset to analyze side bias in NFA-LD" in The Forensic of Pi Kappa Delta. This article documents the assembly of a large dataset recording collegiate debate rounds. A statistical analysis is included to determine if National Forensics Association Lincoln Douglas debate has an overall or topic specific side bias over the past twelve years of debate. The research aim is to facilitate more quantitative analysis into debate competition for improvement of the event and better coaching practices.
