Benita R. Brooks (Teaching and Learning), Tillie Torres, Celest Diaz, and Blaze Epps (all Mater Academy East Campus) presented at the Literacy Research Association’s 75th Annual Conference on Dec. 3 during the Special Study Group Session: Educators, Administrators, and State Department Colleagues at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas.
Their presentation titled, “A High School English Teacher's Well-being Literacy Approach for Building Students' Language-based Skills for Flourishing,” highlighted innovative strategies for integrating well-being literacy into secondary English classrooms to strengthen students’ language practices, resilience, and capacity to flourish.
