1. Apply online. You will be charged a $60 application fee, which you can pay online with a credit/debit card. Paper applications will not be accepted. Be certain to complete the Scholarship Application section.
2. Send your transcripts to the Office of Admissions. You must submit official transcripts from your high school and all colleges/universities you have attended in a sealed envelope from the issuing institution to the Office of Admissions. If you're still enrolled in high school, include a copy of your current class schedule.
3. Submit ACT and/or SAT scores. To be considered for UNLV merit-based scholarships, we recommend you submit your official test scores prior to February 1st. Test scores are also required for placement into your first-year math and English courses and should be submitted when you apply for admission. You can send your scores through the testing agency using the following school codes: ACT: 2496/SAT: 4861.
4. File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Get assistance with paying for college by completing the FAFSA. Access the FAFSA after January 1st. UNLV's federal code is 002569. Direct any additional questions to the Financial Aid & Scholarships Office.
5. Submit immunization records. The state of Nevada requires all students to submit proof of having had the following vaccinations: two doses of live measles (rubeola), one mumps, and one rubella as well as one dose of tetanus diphtheria (within the past 10 years). If you are planning on living in campus housing, a meningitis vaccine is also required. You can either fax or mail your records to the Office of Admissions. Please include your name and date of birth on the document. Immunizations are offered at the UNLV Health Center.
6. Deadlines:
   1. Fall application deadline: July 1.
   2. Spring application deadline: December 1.
   3. Applicants interested in receiving consideration for financial aid must be admitted and have submitted their FAFSA prior to February 1. Therefore, it is important to submit the application for admission as early as possible to ensure processing lime prior to that deadline.

LDELEC stands for lower division elective courses with a 100 or 200 prefix.

UDELEC stands for upper division elective courses with a prefix of 300 or 400. 

College of Sciences courses (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Astronomy, Geology, Geography, Statistics, and Math) expire after 10 years, and can be appealed through a petition process with the departments within the College of Sciences. Consult with your major advisor to identify how this may impact your degree program and information on the appropriate petition process. Per the Fall 2022 Course Catalog.

All incoming first-year students are required to complete Online Pre-Orientation and attend New Student Orientation. Students must complete Online Pre-Orientation before their orientation session. First-year students must attend the entire program.

1. Log into your MyUNLV account.
2. Click on the Tasks tile from your Rebel Student Homepage.
3. Select the Register for New Student Orientation link, located in your To-Do List to register for orientation.
   1. Online registration is required for all students who plan to attend orientation.
   2. You'll receive a confirmation message to your preferred email approximately 15 minutes after completing the online registration. If you have not received a confirmation email, contact orientation@unlv.edu. You'll receive an additional message with important information about your session a couple of days before your scheduled orientation sessions.

You can register, drop, add, and swap courses on your MyUNLV account within the Enrollment tile.

Registration for classes varies by student. Students are assigned enrollment dates for each semester based on class standing. You can find your enrollment appointment (Date and Time) within the Enrollment tile on your MyUNLV Student Center.

All students are required to take first and second year seminars (FYS/SYS).

An exception can be made if you are a transfer student with 30+ transferable credits (no FYS) or 60+ credits (no FYS or SYS).

There is no limit on how many credits you can transfer into UNLV - all of your credits will be evaluated as part of the admissions process. However, in order to earn a bachelor's degree from UNLV, at least half of your credits must be from a 4-year institution (this is generally around 60 credits), and the last 30 must be from UNLV.

There are a variety of holds that can restrict your registration (e.g., financial, library, parking, administrative). The warning you receive in online registration should include a phone number that you can call to take care of that particular hold. For general assistance regarding holds on your account, call the Registrar’s Office at 702-895-3443.
