Field Experiences & Placement

Welcome College of Education students, school district teachers, and field supervisors to the UNLV College of Education Field Experiences site. Students will find information and answers to questions you have about practicum, pre-student teaching, student teaching, and the requirements for each. Mentor Teachers will find information related to the requirements of serving as a mentor for our students. Field/site supervisors will find information related to managing the field placements of the students who are assigned to you.

Teacher Education Field Experiences Portal

The Teacher Education Field Experiences Portal is where students, mentor teachers, and field supervisors go to access and submit field observation/evaluation forms. Applications and waiver forms for field experiences are also available within the portal.

*Note to students requesting a new login: Do not follow the instructions on the Field Experience Portal website to request a new login. Instead, email Vicky Hoffman in the Education Student Services Center with the following information. You will then receive a link to login and set up your profile.

  • First and Last Name
  • Rebelmail Email Address
  • Field of Study (Elementary, Secondary, Special Education, Early Childhood Education, or other)
  • Are you currently taking a Field Experience Course? If so, what course is it?

Accounts will be created after the proper information has been verified. Please allow 24 to 48 hours for an account to be created. Once created, your account information will be emailed to your Rebelmail account.

Fingerprinting & Volunteer Application

On Oct. 1, 2015 the Clark County School District (CCSD) moved to online payment for fingerprints as well as an online CCSD Volunteer Application for all practicum students, interns, and student teachers. CCSD no longer accepts money orders or cashier's checks for fingerprint payment.

Students are required to fingerprint for the following courses:

  • ECE 491
  • ECE 781
  • ESP 720 (Emphasis in Autism)

The deadline to be fingerprinted is Oct. 1 in order to be enrolled in a spring field experience course, and Mar. 1 in order to be enrolled in a fall field experience course.
