Biography

Tam Villar holds a Ph.D. in psychology with a specialization in health psychology. She has taught psychology, counseling, and human services courses and is currently an assistant professor-in-residence in the Department of Counselor Education, School Psychology, and Human Services. She has been a licensed counselor specializing in treating co-occurring disorders for many years in the state of Nevada. As a clinician, she has provided counseling services to individuals affected by trauma and addiction issues. In addition to her experience with direct clinical work, she has also served as a board-approved clinical supervisor for counselor interns.
