The Intersection serves as a place of belonging for all students—especially first generation students and students of color—where they can ask questions and learn about the academic environment.
Supported by the nation’s largest set of federally funded service programs, The Center for Academic Enrichment and Outreach provides services to increase access to and completion of undergraduate and graduate programs for middle school and high school students and parents, displaced adults, and UNLV students.
A variety of interdisciplinary, gender, and ethnic studies are available to students, including degree programs in African-American and African Diaspora Studies, Asian studies, Latin American studies, multidisciplinary studies, social sciences studies, gender and sexuality studies, and a minor in gerontology.
The program supports UNLV’s efforts to significantly increase the
recruitment and academic success of the underrepresented population of students in the STEM and health sciences majors through academic advising, tutoring, one-on-one counseling, and assistance in finding summer and part-time jobs within the STEM and health sciences industries.
The DRC is committed to supporting students with disabilities at UNLV through the appropriate use of advocacy, accommodations, and supportive services to ensure access to campus courses, services, and activities.
